Who's Who Legal Switzerland - Arbitration

Christopher Boog is a partner at Schellenberg Wittmer. He is based both at the firm's Zurich and Singapore offices. Christopher is a vice-chair of the International Arbitration Practice Group.

Christopher has extensive experience handling complex international arbitrations seated in common law and civil law jurisdictions worldwide. He has acted as counsel and arbitrator in over 50 arbitrations, involving a wide array of matters under many different laws. His main areas of specialisation include construction and engineering, energy (including oil & gas), infrastructure projects, commodities, sports and investment law. He also works extensively with clients in the pharmaceutical, automotive and mining industries.

Christopher regularly publishes and speaks on topics related to arbitration, and teaches international arbitration at the EBS Law School in Wiesbaden, Germany. He is a member of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution and a Vice Chair of the IPBA International Construction Projects Committee. Additional memberships include the SIAC User's Council, the ICC Task Force on Emergency Arbitrator Proceedings, the drafting committee for the revision of the DIS Arbitration Rules. Christopher also is an honorary overseas member of the Commercial Bar Association (combar).

Christopher graduated with honours from the law schools at the Universities of Fribourg and Amsterdam. He holds a PhD from the University of Zurich (summa cum laude; Professor Walther Hug Prize). He also was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School, New York, where he conducted extensive research in the fields of international arbitration and transnational litigation.
