Vivien Chan is the founding and managing partner of Vivien Chan & Co, a Greater China law firm with offices in Hong Kong and Beijing. Vivien was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BSS) and the Silver Bronze Bauhinia Star (SBS) by the HKSAR Government in 2008 and 2014 respectively. She is a Justice of the Peace (JP) and was named as one of China’s 100 Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in 2010.
She started Vivien Chan & Co in 1985 and has over 30 years’ experience in M&A, technology transfers, information technology, intellectual property and related tax issues. The firm was named Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year 2015 by Global 100.
Vivien was president of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association from 2002 to 2003. She is a notary public and a notarial attesting officer in PRC. She is the former chair of the Hong Kong Adventure Corps (HKAC) and chairman of the HKSAR Estate Agents Authority from 2008 to 2014.
Vivien has been identified by the Euromoney Legal Media Group and AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers surveys as one of the leading lawyers for China practice, intellectual property, M&A and corporate practice for successive years. She was a finalist in the TMT, and patent and trademark prosecution categories at the Asia Women in Business Law Awards. Vivien has also been named as a leading lawyer in the management labour and employment, patents, and trademarks editions of Who’s Who Legal.
Vivien received her law degree from King’s College London, and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, Hong Kong, New South Wales (Australia), and Singapore.
