Dr Marta Sendrowicz is a partner in Allen & Overy LLP's Warsaw office and heads the Central and Eastern European EU and competition practice. She advises on a wide range of competition law issues arising out of commercial agreements as well as on cases concerning abuse of dominant position and high-profile mergers.
She has an active practice representing clients in cases before the Polish Competition Authority covering explanatory and anti-monopoly proceedings, leniency applications and concentration proceedings. She assists clients in reviewing their business structures and is a keen advocate of new business models.
Marta offers client-oriented competition workshops for CEOs, managers and employees, always tailored to the specific needs of a particular industry, as well as internal audits. She is experienced in a wide range of industry sectors, in particular financial services, energy, construction, retail and TMT.
She has handled cases for AkzoNobel, Cemex, Innova Capital, Maspex, P4, Samsung and Tesco.
Marta is a frequent speaker on Polish and European competition law at conferences and seminars organised by professional associations. She is recognised by all the principal legal directories as a leading individual in competition law. Chambers Europe (2014) states: “Department head Marta Sendrowicz is as a leading figure in the Polish competition market.”
After graduating from the law faculty at Warsaw University, Marta completed an LLM programme in EU law at Maastricht University. In 2001, she completed her PhD studies in competition law at Warsaw University. Marta is also a lecturer at postgraduate EU law programme at Warsaw University’s faculty of law. She was promoted to partner level in May 2012.
