Mr Hurtado is partner of Jáuregui y Del Valle and leads the firm’s practices of economic competition and international trade. He obtained a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in 1985 and a master’s degree in comparative law from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987. Mr Hurtado is a member of the Mexican Bar Association, the National Association of Corporate Counsels and the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico, AC (chair of its trade policy committee). Board member of the Mexican chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the board of Appleseed México, AC – an NGO that promotes pro bono legal work. Mr Hurtado was a foreign associate of Johnson & Gibbs’s Dallas, Texas Office (1993-1994). He has been a professor of administrative law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho since 1985. Mr Hurtado has been a panellist in three arbitraition panels under NAFTA Chapter 19.
