Sabine Konrad focuses on international dispute resolution, with an emphasis on commercial international arbitration and public international law. She advises investors and governments in matters of investment protection. Sabine has experience in cases across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin American and Asia concerning a broad range of industries, including energy and infrastructure.
Sabine Konrad has experience acting as president and arbitrator in treaty arbitrations and also as chairperson, sole-arbitrator and arbitrator in international commercial arbitrations.
Sabine Konrad is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID); the roster of arbitrators of the International Development Law Organisations (IDLO); the list of practitioners of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC); the panel of arbitrators and the panel of mediators of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA); and the panel of arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). She is also a member of SIAC’s users council.
In addition to being recognised by Who’s Who Legal over many years, the 2015 edition of the Commercial Arbitration Expert Guides nominated Dr Konrad as one of the top arbitrators in the world. She is ranked by Chambers Global, was identified as one of Germany’s leading lawyers for international arbitration by Best Lawyers and has been named as a leading woman in business law in the 5th Women in Business Law Expert Guide (2016).
Sabine Konrad also founded the Frankfurt International Arbitration Moot Court, the leading moot court internally in the investment treaty field.
She is fluent in English, French and German. She reads Italian and Spanish.
