Who's Who Legal Arbitration: Lawyers

C Ryan Reetz is a partner in Bryan Cave LLP’s international arbitration and litigation practice group, where he is co-founder and office-managing partner of the firm’s Miami office. He represents clients in international and domestic litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters ranging from investor-state arbitration and foreign sovereign immunities litigation, to business-governance and M&A disputes, to class actions, construction, distribution, and product liability claims, to administrative and regulatory litigation concerning insurance forms and ratemaking, power plant siting, and land-use regulation. His arbitration experience includes international and domestic disputes before a variety of arbitral institutions and under various arbitration rules and agreed procedures. He has also served as an arbitrator in ICC and ad hoc arbitration proceedings.

Mr Reetz teaches transnational civil litigation and arbitration as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law, and previously taught the same subjects at the University of Miami School of Law from 2003 to 2010. He serves as a visiting professor at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, and was a scholar-in-residence at NYU School of Law in 2015. He has also taught trial skills through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and arbitration skills at the Swiss Arbitration Academy. He is the co-author (with Pedro J Martinez-Fraga) of Public Purpose in International Law: Rethinking Regulatory Sovereignty in the Global Era (Cambridge 2015), and serves with numerous professional organisations including the Florida Bar international law section, which he chaired from 2013 to 2014, and the American Law Institute. He received his JD, summa cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, and his AB, magna cum laude, from Harvard University.
