Stephanos Mavrokefalos was born in 1973 and is a graduate of the University of East Anglia (LLB) and of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LLM, labour law).
His professional interest is mainly in mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, information technology, competition and labour law.
He is a member of the Nicosia Bar Association, of which he also served twice as a member in the council, and of the Cyprus Bar Association since 1997. He is also a member of the International Bar Association.
Stephanos is also a founding member of the Cyprus Young Lawyers Association, of which he also served as a treasurer and member of the council. He has also served as a member of the board of judges of the Nicosia Football Union, a legal counsellor and member of the National Council of the Junior Chamber of Cyprus, and a member of the Cyprus Intellectual Property Authority by presidential appointment.
He is an author and contributor to Kluwer Law International's A Practical Guide to National Competition Rules Across Europe, Law Business Research's The Public Competition Enforcement Review and Practical Law Company's PLC Cross-Border Competition Handbook.
Before joining L Papaphilippou & Co LLC in 2001, Stephanos worked with the firms of Papacharalambous & Angelides (1997-1999) and Polakis Sarris & Co (1999-2001).
