Beata Gessel is an expert practitioner in arbitration, M&A, private equity and commercial law. She has acted as an arbitrator or counsel in cases under rules of ICC, FCC, UNCITRAL, Lewiatan, KIG and the National Depository for Securities. President of the Lewiatan Court of Arbitration since 2011.
She is an alternate member of the of ICC International Arbitration Court (2015–); CIArb fellow; member of the CIArb European committee; and chair of the Polish Private Equity Association audit committee.
Beata Gessel is a well-recognised promoter of arbitration and an active figure on the Polish arbitration landscape. Her biannual “Dispute Resolution in M&A Transactions” conferences, described by OGEMID as "groundbreaking", gather the most renowned arbitration experts from all over the world and have contributed to her nomination to the OGEMID Awards in Diversity category.

She has run comparative law research on breach of M&A transactions as a visiting academic at Oxford University Law Department for 2015/2016 and at Cambridge University Law Department within the Herbert Smith Freehills Visiting Professors Scheme for 2016/2017.
