She has a solid track record as counsel, arbitrator and arbitral secretary in numerous international arbitrations under all major arbitration rules (AAA, CEPANI, CIMAR, CRCICA, DIAC, DIS, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, NAF, UNCITRAL, SCC, SIAC, Vienna Arbitration Rules), governed by various procedural and substantive laws, relating to diverse legal issues (eg, investment, distributorship, joint ventures, licensing, patent, post-M&A, sales of goods, turn-key projects) and sectors (eg, banking, construction, energy, finance, HoReCa, insurance, mining, nuclear power plants, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, satellites, telecommunication and transportation).
She also acts in setting-aside and enforcement matters under the New York Convention regime.
Further, Niuscha Bassiri is a lecturer at the ICHEC Business and Management School in Brussels on international commercial law and dispute resolution.
She is a member of the international board of the Finnish Arbitration Institution; the board of the Belgian chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club; the editorial board of the Journal of International Arbitration; the IBA investment arbitration sub-committee; the ICC Commission on Arbitration; and the ICC Institute of World Business Law.
