José Roberto de Castro Neves is a senior partner and founder of Ferro, Castro Neves, Daltro & Gomide Advogados, with offices in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. José Roberto specialises in civil and commercial litigation, consumer rights, commercial, administrative and contract law. He has wide experience in court proceedings and complex arbitrations. He received his master’s degree in law from Cambridge University and both his civil law doctorate and bachelor’s degree in law from Rio de Janeiro State University. José Roberto has been recognised by many specialised publications as a leading lawyer in Brazil.For many years José Roberto has been a professor of civil law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and a professor of civil law in graduate programmes at Rio de Janeiro State University and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He lectures at the Escola de Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Magistrate School) and at Fundação Getúlio Vargas, also in Rio de Janeiro. José Roberto has published numerous books and articles on civil law and arbitration. He is married and has three children.
