José Roberto de Castro Neves is a senior partner and founder of Ferro, Castro Neves, Daltro & Gomide Advogados, with offices in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. José Roberto specialises in civil and commercial litigation, consumer rights and commercial, administrative and contract law. He has a wide experience in court proceedings and complex arbitrations. He received his master's degree in Law from Cambridge University and both his Civil Law doctorate and bachelor's degree in Law from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. José Roberto has been recognised by many specialised publications as a leading lawyer in Brazil.
He has been for many years a professor of Civil Law at Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro and a professor of Civil Law in graduate programmes at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro and Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. He lectures at the Escola de Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Magistrate School) and at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas, also in Rio.
José Roberto has published numerous books and articles on civil law.
He is married and has three children.
