Bogdan Evtimov is a partner in Dentons’ Brussels office. He has worked extensively in trade and WTO law in leading global and EU practices in Brussels since 2001. Bogdan is recognised by all major legal rankings as one of the leading trade lawyers in the EU and worldwide. He has specific knowledge and expertise in the interface between competition and trade laws. Bogdan is admitted in Sofia (Bulgaria) and the Brussels Bar’s E-list, and is a seasoned litigator before the EU courts. Bogdan has gained substantial experience in high-profile trade cases and regularly represents applicants in direct actions and appeals against acts of the EU institutions. In particular, Bogdan has achieved an interpretative judgment that prevented a major overturn of case law on access to justice in trade cases, and handled an appeal dealing with the effect of WTO law in the EU legal order before the Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice. Bogdan has gained deep knowledge of the WTO agreements through extensive involvement over a number of years in the context of WTO accession negotiations.
Bogdan has authored a number of publications in renowned books and journals on international trade. He is a founding member of the Bulgarian Association for European Law. He speaks fluent English, Russian and French, in addition to his native Bulgarian.
