Edward Borovikov is the office managing partner in Dentons’ Brussels office. Edward is a Russian advocate as well as a registered foreign lawyer within the Law Society of England and Wales, and a member of the Brussels Bar (B-list). Before opening the Brussels office of Salans (Dentons) in 2010, Edward was a partner with other prominent international law firms in Brussels. Prior to that, he served as a senior trade diplomat at the Russian Mission to the European Union in Brussels.
Edward is recognised as one of the leading international trade lawyers in Europe and worldwide with substantial experience in issues of global trade and investment, cross-border commercial regulations and international trade policy. He has in-depth experience with WTO, EU and Russian/Eurasian Economic Union trade and competition laws and practice, trade policy and international trade and investment negotiations, including those on trade liberalisation and WTO accession. Edward's authoritative counsel to clients on issues of international trade and commerce, as well as competition law, reflects a valuable combination of legal skill and knowledge, broad economic understanding and well-informed diplomatic insight.
Edward represents many major exporters and advises national governments with a special focus on trade negotiations, trade defence investigations, competition aspects of trade restricting measures, trade and integration agreements, market access and various WTO issues. With swift development of the Eurasian integration, Edward became a leading counsel to clients on trade and customs and competition law issues in that region and the interplay between commitments in the WTO and the legal order of the Eurasian Economic Union.
WWL says: Edward Borovikov is a “very reliable” lawyer “with huge experience” in the area who, clients say, “quickly understands the specifics of our work”.
