Dr Astrid Waser is a partner in the competition and regulated market group in Zurich. She specialises in all aspects of competition (antitrust) law, public procurement law and media and telecoms law. Astrid Waser also advises on regulatory issues in connection with the gas and electricity industry. She advises in non-contentious matters and represents clients before Swiss authorities and courts, in particular in merger filings, cartel investigations and infringement procedures of the Swiss Competition Commission as well as in public procurement procedures.
Astrid Waser also has a long-standing experience in the field of internal and regulatory investigations and compliance matters. Astrid Waser publishes on Swiss and European competition law as well as public procurement law and is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars.
Astrid Waser obtained a law degree from the University of Lausanne (1996) and an LLM from the College of Europe (1997). Admitted to the bar (1999), she completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Zurich (2002). She has worked at the European Institute in Zurich, at the European Commission (DG Competition) and in a leading Brussel’s law firm. She joined Lenz & Staehelin in 2002 and has been a partner since 2012. She speaks German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Astrid Waser is a member of the following professional associations: Swiss Bar Association (SAV), Zurich Bar Association (ZAV), Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht eV, the Swiss Association for Competition Law (ASAS, a member of the International League of Competition Law (LIDC)) and Women Lawyers Switzerland.
