Rino Caiazzo has an extensive and distinguished background in competition law. Mr Caiazzo is a part-time professor of competition law at the Roma Tre University and is a lecturer of competition and market regulations for the master’s programmes at Tor Vergata and La Sapienza Universities in Rome. He is the author of several publications on antitrust law and a frequent speaker at both Italian and international seminars. He was vice chairman of committee C (antitrust and trade law) of the International Bar Association.
Among the number of books and articles that he has authored are: “Antitrust e Telecomunicazioni” (in Studi celebrativi del Ventennale dell'Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato, Giappichelli, 2010); “Antitrust violations, consumer protection and class action: a new era for private enforcement in Italy?” (IX Conference - antitrust between EU law and national law, Treviso, 2010, Giuffrè); “L'Autorità per le garanzie nelle comunicazioni” (chapter of the book Arbitri dei mercati - le Autorità indipendenti e l'economia ed il Mulino; “Access to the network - Legal issues” (chapter of the book Electronic Communications Law Giuffrè, 2010); and “Antitrust - Legal Issues” (Giappichelli Editore, 2007).
He graduated in law from Rome University in 1981 and obtained a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1986.
