Kiran Sequeira’s work is focused primarily on valuation and damages in international arbitrations and litigation. He has been retained as an expert witness on financial, economic, valuation and damages issues in over 30 international arbitrations and federal court proceedings. He has assisted businesses, individuals, investors and governments with valuations and damages assessments in both investor-state and commercial arbitrations. His industry experience includes the power, oil and gas, mining, telecommunications, infrastructure, real estate, manufacturing, retail and services sectors.
Kiran has been involved in some of the largest and most visible matters in the energy sector, where the damages sought are well in excess of US$1 billion. His international project experience covers matters across Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Russia/CIS, South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Kiran has acted as an expert adviser in all phases of the arbitration and litigation process, including preliminary damages assessments, document production, detailed quantum assessments, preparation and exchange of expert reports, joint expert statements, and oral evidence at hearings.
Kiran received an MBA with a concentration in finance from the The Johns Hopkins University and an MS in civil engineering from Syracuse University. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Mumbai. He has been elected to Who’s Who Legal’s listing of commercial arbitration expert witnesses since 2013. He is also a licensed professional engineer (PE).
