Becky Wood is an experienced litigator with a wide-ranging practice handling complex commercial and appellate litigation, including product liability and mass tort litigation.
Becky has significant experience serving as national counsel to life sciences companies in complex litigation involving an array of medical device and pharmaceutical matters. Her expansive appellate practice includes merits and amicus briefing to the United States Supreme Court on a range of issues, including the preemption of state actions by federal law.
Becky holds several leadership positions at Sidley, serving as firmwide co-chair and DC hiring partner on the recruiting of associates committee, as well as on the firm’s retention and promotion of women and summer associates programmes committees.
Becky is a member of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), and serves on AdvaMed’s MTLI Advisory Council. She also is a member of other professional organisations including the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).
Before joining Sidley, Becky served as a law clerk to the Honourable Pasco M Bowman II on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Becky received her JD in 1998 from New York University School of Law and her BA (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in 1994 from Yale University.
