Uta Itzen has been a partner since May 2010 and works in Freshfields’ Duesseldorf office. She is a member of our antitrust, competition and trade practice group.
Uta is experienced in all aspects of German and European competition law, with a special focus on cartels and merger control. In recent years, she has acted in major cartel investigations undertaken by the European Commission and the Federal Cartel Office. She has also represented clients before the European Courts, as well as in follow-on litigation, and has broad experience in conducting antitrust compliance audits on a national and international level, as well as in advising clients in merger control proceedings before national competition authorities and the European Commission. Uta completed her legal education, including her Doctor of Laws (Dr iur) degree, at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg.
She joined the firm in 2002 and speaks German, English and French.
