Mr Allende is a senior partner and one of the two founders of the firm. He is in charge of the energy and natural resources practice group. He advises several national and multinational companies in the mining, engineering and construction, energy and natural resources industries. He also has extensive experience in project finance, particularly in the areas mentioned.
As a legal adviser and board member of several large companies, Mr Allende has advised clients in connection with numerous large-scale mining projects in Chile since 1990; these include the negotiation of multimillion-dollar EPC and EPCM contracts, acquisition of large mining prospects and mining concessions, foreign investment contracts and project finance deals. For many years Mr. Allende has been the counsel for the mining branch of one of the biggest industrial conglomerates in Chile, advising them on a day-to-day basis.
He is an active member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation; the energy section of the International Bar Association (IBA/SERRIL); and the Chilean Bar Association. He is an arbitrator for the Arbitration and Mediation Center for the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Allende received a law degree (JD) from the University of Chile School of Law and a Master of Arts degree (MA) from Fletcher School of Law in Boston, USA.
Mr Allende is a Fulbright Fletcher fellow and was sponsored by the State Department of the United States of America. He is also a member of the Harvard Alumni Association and the Fletcher Alumni Association.
He practises in the areas of corporate, natural resources and mining.
He speaks Spanish and English.
