Kim O'Connell is leader of King & Wood Mallesons' preeminent Australian health and pharmaceutical practice. She has extensive experience in advising life sciences and pharmaceutical companies on all aspects of intellectual property law, product liability and relevant regulatory and consumer protection areas.
Kim specialises in patent litigation and regulatory appeals, however also handles other intellectual property disputes, including copyright, trade mark, trade dress and misuse of confidential information.
She has handled numerous cross border transactions and disputes and is experienced in cooperatively coordinating global strategies.
In addition to complex litigation, Kim advises life sciences clients on their day-to-day activities, including commercial transactions, research and development, clinical trials, advertising and labelling and regulatory issues. She has extensive experience of the regulatory regime for therapeutic goods. She has guided clients through government enquiries and advised in relation to anti-corruption regimes in Australia and Asia.
