David Bateson is a partner in the Hong Kong office of King & Wood Mallesons where he specialises in construction projects and dispute resolution.
He has been recognised as a leading construction expert.
His work involves all forms of project documentation and dispute resolution including arbitration, adjudication, litigation and mediation.
David has been a resident of Hong Kong since 1980. He has extensive experience in acting on major projects in the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East for governments, developers, employers, contractors and sub-contractors.
David is the author of the book Commercial Arbitration in Hong Kong, and contributed to Arbitration in Hong Kong: A Practical Guide; and Chitty on Contracts - Hong Kong Specific Contracts.
He is a practising arbitrator, and is on the panels of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Arbitration and Conciliation Tribunal (FACT India), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG).
