Randall's practice focuses on competition law including in the context of federal laws regulating the communications, energy, financial services and transportation sectors. In addition to advising on conduct and transactions subject to the Competition Act and the Investment Canada Act, and representing clients before the regulators, Randall routinely appears as senior litigation counsel in Canada's leading competition law cases before the Competition Tribunal, and Canada's Provincial, Federal and Supreme Courts. In addition to acting for major domestic and international corporations in these fora, Randall has prosecuted major competition law cases as special counsel to the Commissioner of Competition, including major criminal cartel and pricing cases, and the only abuse of dominance matter to reach the Federal Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada, the Canada Pipe case. He has also represented the commissioner on legislative/policy reform initiatives related to abuse of dominance, cartels, price maintenance, regulated conduct, and the intellectual property/competition law interface.
