James O'Connor, a partner in the New York office, represents both issuers and underwriters in a wide variety of corporate and securities matters and capital markets transactions. His experience includes public and private offerings of all types, including IPOs and other common equity transactions, preferred stock offerings and secured and unsecured debt transactions (registered and 144A), including retail and institutional medium-term note programmes. In addition to securities transactions, his practice includes consultation with clients regarding corporate governance matters and public company reporting obligations.

In 2011, Mr O'Connor worked on more than 20 capital markets transactions involving companies in a broad range of industries, including REITs, financial institutions and finance companies, energy companies, auto manufacturers and insurance services. Those transactions included debt offerings for Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation and Aon and representation of the underwriters in the IPO of Walker & Dunlop and in offerings by Daimler, PSEG, Camden Property Trust and Pebblebrook Hotel Trust.

Mr O'Connor is a member of the American Bar Association and The Association of the Bar of The City of New York. He is also a member of the board of directors of the United Way of Pelham and is mayor of the Village of Pelham Manor, New York.

Mr O'Connor received his JD (cum laude, Albany Law Review, note and comment editor) from Albany Law School of Union University in 1991 and his BA from Georgetown University in 1986. He is admitted in Connecticut and New York.
