Gerard A Hekker is a partner in Sidley's international corporate practice in Asia, based in the firm's Singapore office. A US attorney and English solicitor, he represents purchasers, sellers and target companies in merger and acquisition transactions, financial investors in private equity transactions, and issuers and underwriters in corporate finance transactions including equity, high-yield debt and liability management.

Mr Hekker represents telecommunications companies on business transactions including tower leasing, managed services and mobile payment systems. His business sector experience includes financial institutions, telecommunications, upstream oil & gas exploration and production, downstream petroleum and petrochemical refining, mining, forest products, power generation, pharmaceuticals, transportation and infrastructure. He has represented clients in Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and the US. Mr Hekker is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conversant in Bahasa Indonesia.

Mr Hekker received his JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1992 and his BA from Dartmouth College in 1986. He is admitted in California, is an English solicitor and is a registered foreign lawyer in Singapore.
