Gerard A Hekker is a partner in the firm’s Singapore office. Based in Asia since 1998, Mr Hekker advises on merger and acquisitions, as well as venture capital and technology transactions. He also advises on issuance of equity and debt securities, as well as liability management transactions including tender offers, consent solicitations, exchange offers and debt-for-equity swaps. His industry experience includes the telecommunications, finance, petroleum and petrochemicals, natural resources, energy, manufacturing and consumer sectors throughout the ASEAN region.
Representative capital markets matters include PT Solusi Tunas Pratama on its US$300 million 6.25 per cent Senior Notes due 2020; PT ABM Investama Tbk, on its US$222 million IPO including a Rule 144A/ Regulation S international offering; the solicitation agent on the consent solicitation for amendments to covenants in the 6.25 per cent Notes due 2017 issued by BW Group Limited; PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, on its US$350 million privatisation and IPO including a Rule 144A/ Regulation S international offering; Axiata Group Berhad, as selling shareholder, and PT XL Axiata Tbk, as issuer, on a US$600 million secondary share sale including a Rule 144A/Regulation S international offering; and PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Group Tbk, on a US$200 million IPO including a Rule 144A/ Regulation S international offering
Mr Hekker is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conversant in Bahasa Indonesia.
Mr Hekker received his JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1992 and his BA from Dartmouth College in 1986. He is admitted in California, is an English solicitor and is a registered foreign lawyer in Singapore.
