Jean-Yves Fortin is a partner in the Montreal office and is a member of the firm's bankruptcy, insolvency & restructuring group. Jean-Yves is a leader in the field of insolvency and restructuring law and advises clients on matters related to corporate reorganisations, foreclosures, bankruptcy, receiverships and loan workout situations. His clients include both debtors and lenders in a variety of insolvency situations. He has been involved in most of the major workouts in insolvency and restructuring in the Montreal region and in Canada for the last 35 years.

Jean-Yves has received numerous accolades from the legal and insolvency communities, including fellowships and best-lawyer designations. He sits on a variety of boards and advisory committees and is fellow and past president of the Insolvency Institute of Canada (FIIC), past board director of the Canadian Insolvency Foundation, a founding member of the International Insolvency Institute, a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy (FACB), and advocatus emeritus of the Quebec Bar (AdE).
