Mr Yves Hayaux-du-Tilly specialises in financing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law and is widely recognised as one of Mexico’s leading insurance and reinsurance experts.
Yves advises multinational clients and foreign investors in financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other operations in Mexico and Latin America. He has a particularly strong background in the insurance and financial sector and regularly handles high-end transactions for leading insurance sector clients. He heads NHG’s pioneering London office, advising insurance companies, law firms and other leading international corporations and multinationals in their transactions and business involving Mexico and Latin America.
Yves’ insurance practice is diverse, handling a variety of matters in addition to transactional work, including mediation and litigation, product development, regulatory and corporate matters, corporate governance and compliance. Yves is a non-executive member of the board of various Mexican insurance companies; a member of both the presidential council of the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA) and the insurance committee of the International Bar Association (IBA); and the current co-chair of the transnational services committee of the section of international law of the American Bar Association (ABA).

He currently serves as non-executive and independent director of Dentegra Seguros Dentales, recently completed the liquidation of LandAmerica Title Insurance Company Mexico, and is the secretary non-member of the board of directors of Assurant Vida Mexico and Assurant Daños Mexico.

He also represents the leading international insurance groups in their operations in Mexico, and advises on reinsurance claims covering Mexican risks.
Yves heads NHG’s London office, enabling NHG to best advise Mexican clients throughout Europe on their operations in Mexico and Latin America.
Yves is a member of the presidential council of the International Insurance Law Association (AIDA); a former chairman of AIDA’s Mexican chapter (AMEDESEF); and an an honorary member of the Commercial Bar (COMBAR). He was responsible was establishing ARIAS Mexico.
Yves is the founder of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom (the first Mexican chamber of commerce in Europe) and currently serves as its chairman; he is also a co-founder of the Latin American Forum.
Yves received his law degree from the Panamerican University; attended a programme on the US legal system at Georgetown University in Washington, DC; and is a fellow of the French government programme for future leaders, held at ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Yves has been involved in aviation-related matters for many years. When Saab was a regular lessor of aircraft to Aeromexico, Yves frequently represented Saab in its day-to-day operations, including the negotiation and lease of more than 24 aircraft to Aeromexico.
Yves also has participated regularly in insurance and reinsurance-related matters involving aviation law and related risk, including advising AXA in the claim to AIG arising from the aircraft accident in which the secretary of the Interior of Mexico and other high-level officers perished.
During the first stages of insolvency of Mexicana, Yves advised and represented Aviation Capital Group in the workout and restructuring of eight aircraft lease agreements and three additional new aircraft lease agreements.
Yves also acted as expert in Mexican law in the landmark matter of Pegasus Aviation, Inc, and others as claimants (insured) and Seguros Comercial America, SA de CV as respondent, from 2006 to 2008, with work involving, among other issues, the construction of AVN 67B.
Yves' focus on aviation law has always used strength of his experience and expertise in insurance, reinsurance and financial laws, all of which have given him a strong edge to serve NHG clients in aviation-related matters.
