Who's Who Legal Competition: Economists

Nils von Hinten-Reed is the managing director of CEG Europe and an expert in providing economic advice in competition and litigation cases before the European Commission, courts and competition authorities worldwide. Nils has over 25 years of experience analysing markets in roles including HM Treasury, DG Competition and an economic consultancy.  

Nils von Hinten-Reed has extensive experience of applying economics to article 101/102 cases including cartel cases and dominance cases. Nils serves as an economic expert in numerous cartel and conduct cases for plaintiffs and defendants across a broad range of industries. Recent experience includes providing a review to the CCS on the liner shipping block exemption; Sainsbury’s v MasterCard at the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal; Sainsbury’s v Visa in the High Court; and numerous damages cases including successful settlements. Nils also serves as an expert or providing economic advice on large and complex arbitration cases including PGNiG v Gazprom (gas) and Vivendi v Deutsche Telekom (telecoms).
