Who's Who Legal Switzerland - Corporate Immigration

Ueli Sommer heads the employment team of Walder Wyss. He has many years of experience in all aspects of employment and labour law, including litigation. He has vast experience in the structuring of complex compensation schemes, including share-based participation plans. His practice covers workforce restructuring and alternative work arrangements. He advises many companies on their immigration issues, in particular for executive employees and in connection with international relocations.

Mr Sommer is a member of the board of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA) and senior vice chair and quality officer of the discrimination law committee of the International Bar Association. He formerly acted as chair of the international employment law committee of the ABA Section of International Law. Currently, he is also the chairman of the Australian Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Honorary Consul to Australia.

He joined Walder Wyss in 1999. From 2001 to 2002 he worked as a foreign associate at Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney.

Mr Sommer was born in 1970. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Zurich (lic iur). He received his doctorate from Zurich University in 1999. Further, he obtained an LLM from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, in 2001.
