Don has over two decades of expertise advising on technology procurements, licensing and related transactions. He has acted for numerous technology developers and has been involved in major technology projects in both Canada and the United States.
Don’s wealth of expertise in technology matters includes: health informatics, biotechnology acquisitions and financings, biotech licensing, outsourcing, technology procurement, technology development alliances and transactions, software development agreements, hardware acquisitions and financings, teaming agreements, technology licensing, technology financing, technology joint ventures, internet agreements and licences, online services, e-commerce, privacy and data protection matters, enforcement of intellectual property rights, negotiation and finalisation of reseller agreements for technology vendors, design and implementation of "business partner" programme agreements, design and implementation of strategic alliances among high-tech companies and mediation of disputes in relation to technology.
Don has lectured extensively on outsourcing, technology law, e-health law, procurement, privacy and data security.
Don is a member of the International Bar Association; the Canadian Bar Association, business law section; the Canadian IT Law Association (IT.Can), past president (2006–2008), past treasurer and co-founder; and the Toronto Computer Lawyers' Group.

Don received his D.Jur in 1976 from Osgoode Hall Law School and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1978.
