Robert has worked with various committees in the development of trademark legislation and policies. As chair of the trademark legislation committee for the Canadian Bar Association, he was actively involved in the process leading up to several major amendments to the Canadian Trade-marks Act.
He is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in intellectual property law (trademarks), and served on the Law Society of Upper Canada's committee for the certification of specialists in intellectual property.
In the past, Robert has served on Gowlings' national executive committee and as the managing director of the firm's Moscow office.
Robert has been listed as a leading lawyer in several legal industry publications, including The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, WTR 1000, Who's Who Legal: Canada, Chambers Global, Lexpert/ALM Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Best Lawyers in Canada, PLC Which Lawyer? He is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, Canadian Bar Association, American Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada, and Marques.
