From 2006 through 2011, Mr Zelek was named one of the leading US lawyers for employment law by Chambers USA, based on the views of clients, peers, and other industry professionals. Clients reported that Mr Zelek "rises to the occasion" and "always sensibly weighs up the pros and cons of a matter before acting." Chambers also has called Mr Zelek "well steeped in labour law" and has reported that Mr Zelek regularly uses his fluency in Spanish to the benefit of clients, advising Latin American clients on US labour law and vice versa.
Mr Zelek, who is fluent in Spanish, has lectured widely on a broad range of labour and employee benefits law issues, including at a series of arbitration conferences throughout Central America sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA). Mr Zelek is admitted to practise in Florida. He is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business (2006-11), Florida Super Lawyer (2006-09), The Best Lawyers in America (2007-11), Guide to the World's Leading Labour & Employment Lawyers 2007 (Expert Guides), and South Florida Legal Guide (2008-10).
Mr Zelek received his JD from Columbia University Law School in 1982, and his BA in 1977 from Yale University.
