Biography • Patents

Christine Kanz has been an attorney since 1998 and a partner of the firm since 2006. She advises German and international clients in all intellectual property matters, especially in patent law. Next to patent litigation, her further main focus is the drafting of licence agreements, cooperation agreements, research and development agreements etc, especially for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

She concentrates in particular on the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology as well as chemistry and medical devices. Christine Kanz is also experienced in cases of general mechanics and mechanical engineering.

She had already started specialising in intellectual property law during her 1996 legal internship. After a visitor's stay at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Munich, she received her PhD in trademark law (2002) from the University of Düsseldorf.

Christine Kanz publishes regularly on patent law issues and is a speaker at conferences on patent law issues. Furthermore, she is visiting lecturer at Hagen Law School.
