Friedrich Jergitsch is managing partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Vienna heading the local finance practice group. He has been a partner since 2003 and specialises in banking and finance – from raising new capital to restructuring and regulatory issues. In addition, he carries out structured finance and derivative work and advises banks on legislative changes. He also acts as adviser to creditors on insolvency matters.
Friedrich advises a wide range of financial institutions, including commercial banks, investment banks and insurances in Austria and CEE/CIS.
Friedrich was born in 1963 in Vienna, Austria. He holds a law degree of the University of Vienna and, before becoming a lawyer, had been a credit analyst at an international bank for several years. He frequently speaks at conferences and has published articles on cross-border safe custody of securities, foreign exchange law and insolvency law. He is also member of an international working group on covered bonds.
Friedrich was admitted as a lawyer in 2002. He joined the firm in 1998 and speaks German, English and Russian.
