Dr Heiskanen is adjunct professor of international law at the University of Helsinki, teaches international commercial arbitration at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lausanne and also taught at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2002. He is a member of the ICSID and AAA (ICDR) panels of arbitrators, and of numerous professional associations, including IBA, ILA, American Society of International Law, LCIA, IAI, ASA and Finnish Arbitration Association. He graduated from the University of Helsinki (LLB, 1983; LL Lic, 1985) and holds an LLM and a Doctorate of Juridical Science (SJD) from Harvard Law School (1988 and 1992).
Dr Heiskanen speaks English, French and Finnish and has a working knowledge of German and Swedish.
