Alison is a partner in Bird & Bird's China intellectual property group and heads the firm's Asia-Pacific life sciences and healthcare practice.
As an experienced IP lawyer, Alison handles cases involving copyright, trademarks, patents, designs and trade secrets. She regularly advises technology rich clients on complex and cross-border intellectual property issues, including IP portfolio management, commercialisation of IP rights and multi-jurisdictional litigation.
She is particularly well known for her expertise in the life sciences and healthcare sector and has advised on market entry, data exclusivity, data protection, clinical trials, research and collaboration, public sector procurement, and product life cycle management in Hong Kong and China.
Alison has been recognised as "Top 250 Women in IP 2016" by Managing IP and "WIPR Leader 2017" by World IP Review (2016). She continues to be ranked as a leading life sciences lawyer by major publications and legal directories including Chambers Asia-Pacific and was a winner in the “Life Sciences Lawyer of the Year - Hong Kong” category of the Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards (2015-16).
She is a regular speaker at international conferences and was involved in lobbying the HKSAR government and the HKSAR Legislative Council on copyright law reform. She is also a member of APAA, INTA and the HKTMP.
