Alison is a partner in the Hong Kong and China IP group. She specialises in the conduct and supervision of multi-jurisdictional IP and patent litigation in Asia and has worked extensively in the life sciences sector. Alison has undertaken a number of high-profile patent and copyright actions in Hong Kong, China and South East Asia for pharmaceutical companies.
Her non-contentious practice covers the development and implementation of IP protection strategies, regulatory advice, IP audits and clearances, and domain name disputes in China and Asia.
Alison has been ranked as a leading IP lawyer in industry directoriesand publications including The International Who’s Who of Life Sciences Lawyers 2010, 2013 and 2014, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2010-11 edition, and Chambers Asia 2010. She is a regular speaker at international conferences and was involved in lobbying the HKSAR government and the HKSAR Legislative Council on copyright law reform. She is a member of APAA, INTA and HKTMP.
Alison qualified in Hong Kong in 1996 and in England and Wales in 1997. She became a partner of Bird & Bird in 2004.
