Jay Zimbler is a partner in Sidley's Chicago office. He focuses on federal income tax matters with an emphasis on contested matters, Subchapter C and the taxation of foreign related transactions. Mr Zimbler has handled complex appellate cases and planning matters for a variety of multinational corporations nationwide.

Over the years, Mr Zimbler variously has been named one of the Midwest's top six tax advisers by the International Tax Review, one of the nation's top tax lawyers by United States Lawyer Rankings, a leading lawyer by Chambers USA and in The Best Lawyers in America. He has been a speaker at the University of Chicago Tax Conference, Colorado Springs Tax Institute, Bank Administration Tax Institute Tax Conference, Tax Executives Institute, the World Trade Institute, International Fiscal Association and the Chicago Bar Association. Mr Zimbler is a CPA.

Mr Zimbler received his JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School in 1975 and his BA (with highest honours, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Michigan in 1972. Admissions include the US Tax Court, the US Court of Federal Claims, the US Court of Appeals, the US District Court and Illinois.
