William Kerr is a partner in Sidley's Chicago office, co-head of Sidley's investment funds, advisers and derivatives group and a member of the firm's executive committee. He represents clients in securities and derivatives-related corporate and regulatory matters, including organisation and operation of US and offshore hedge funds, funds of funds, commodity pools, real estate funds and private equity funds, organisation and operation of investment advisers, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors, fund restructurings, structured products, and derivatives documentation and regulation. Representative transactions include stock exchange listed funds, redomiciliations of funds, hybrid funds, feeder fund and managed account platforms, seed capital investments in advisers and funds, credit-enhanced funds, fund derivatives and investment adviser acquisitions and joint ventures.

Mr Kerr received his JD from Harvard Law School in 1983 and his BA (cum laude) from Yale University in 1980. He is admitted in Illinois and New York.
