Christian Wik is a Helsinki-based partner who heads the firm’s EU and competition practice. This practice is internationally recognised, for example, by Global Competition Review in the GCR100, as among the leading in the world.
Christian has extensive experience in cartel investigations, advising on dominant market position claims and multi-jurisdictional merger filings, both on a national and EU level. He is often sought by clients to advice on all competition and antitrust related matters as well as joint ventures and M&A projects.
In addition to the above, Christian regularly advises energy and mining companies, and on projects relating to renewable energy.
Christian is ranked Band 1 in Finland for EU and competition by Chambers Europe. He is also recognised as a leading expert in this field by other major international legal directories such as The Legal 500 and Chambers Global. Due to his extensive experience in competition matters before the Commission and EU courts, Christian is also the only Finnish competition lawyer recognised by Chambers Europe as an “expert based abroad” for Belgium. According to clients, Christian "has the ability to understand the big picture. He goes straight to the core of the issue and tries to find solutions for it." (Chambers Europe, 2012).
Christian was educated at the University of Helsinki and the Southern Methodist University of Dallas, Texas, and has been trained at the bench.
