Edgar Mayorga is the partner in charge of the business immigration practice group at Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociados, an internationally recognised, widely respected and innovative Mexican law firm. Mr Mayorga, who is fluent in English, obtained his law degree at Universidad La Salle, and specialised in Business Law and International Contracts at the Escuela Libre de Derecho.
Mr Mayorga is one of the recognised leading experts in the representation of businesses facing the transfer of personnel to Mexico, including specialised assistance for the relocation of the employees and their families. His services include the obtaining of visas and all types of immigration permits, such as those required for temporary residency, work and studies, permanent resident status, citizenship, and family immigration, among others.
Amongst the firm’s clients, which include international companies and law firms specialised in immigration matters, Mr Mayorga has a recognised reputation as a creative problem solver, as well as a strategic planner, providing timely and proficient results in every case. The practice has been growing every year, attending corporate immigration business in all the jurisdictions of the Mexican Republic. The department also assist their clients in obtaining visas form the various foreign consulates in Mexico allowing applications by third parties.
Mr Mayorga has authored various articles on immigration issues, such as the hiring of foreign personnel by Mexican companies and a Guide for Foreigners Living in Mexico, published by Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociados.
He is frequently invited as speaker on immigration by various Mexican universities and international organisations. He has been writing for the International Law Office of the corporate immigration newsletter from Mexico since 2006.
