Ira A Eddymurthy is a founding partner of SSEK Legal Consultants. Her practice focuses on banking and finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, insurance and tax law. Ms Eddymurthy is lauded for her “sophisticated knowledge of Indonesian law” and her “comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the commercial aims of clients” (Chambers & Partners).
Ms Eddymurthy’s recent representations include the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility in the issuance of medium-term notes in the amount of US$10.7 million, and a London-based multinational in the establishment of an insurance and reinsurance company in Indonesia. Ms Eddymurthy led the SSEK team acting as Indonesian counsel to Alibaba Group Holding in its US$1 billion purchase of a controlling stake in Southeast Asian online retailer Lazada Group.
Ms Eddymurthy represented a global supplier of oil and gas products and services on all Indonesian aspects of a C$675 million revolving credit facility entered into with syndicated lenders, advised Standard Chartered on a US$90 million ISDA financing arrangement and acted as Indonesian counsel to the Japan Bank for International Cooperation on loan arrangements for a vehicle financing company in Indonesia.
Ms Eddymurthy is recognised as an expert in banking, capital markets, M&A and project finance by Who’s Who Legal, and as one of the top M&A lawyers in Indonesia by Chambers Asia-Pacific. She is regularly recognised by IFLR1000, Legal 500 and Asia Law & Practice.
Ms Eddymurthy graduated from the University of Indonesia Faculty of Law in 1984 and was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law from 1990 to 1991.
