Stephen has headed our mergers and acquisitions practice since 2001. He has a general corporate and M&A practice, with particular experience in takeover bids and other Stock Exchange related work and acts for a number of listed companies, including Aggreko, ARM Holdings, Diageo, International Airlines Group, John Wood Group, Morgan Crucible, Segro, Ultra Electronics and WS Atkins.
Recent work includes advising: autonomy on the offer by Hewlett-Packard; Cadbury on the hostile offer by Kraft; British Airways on its merger with Iberia and its abortive merger with Qantas; Emerson Electric on its offer for Chloride Group; Associated British Ports on the competitive offers by Admiral and Britannia consortia; Cazenove on the merger of its investment banking business with J P Morgan; PSA on its offer for P&O; and Songbird on its offer for Canary Wharf.
Stephen is named by Who's Who Legal as one of the top ten M&A lawyers worldwide and is listed as a leading individual in a number of other directories.
Stephen worked in our former New York office from 1989 to 1990. He is the author of Takeovers (PLC Publications 1997).
