Indeed in our quantum of damages chapter the firm leads our listings, providing an unsurpassed global network of experts in this field. It is also well-represented in out specialist construction chapter, while FTI’s forensic accountants provide a valuable resource to the world’s most prominent law firms and companies in relation to civil and criminal disputes, and regulatory enquiries. Clients of the firm include the majority of the world’s top 100 law firms and 48 of the Global 100 corporations. 

The firm’s distinguished business valuation practice accounts for some of the world’s leading economists and accountants who are active in the provision of opinions and expert testimony in large commercial and investment treaty disputes. In total, we recognise 29 individuals across 11 offices, which is testament to the firm’s unparalleled global recognition in this area. FTI’s London office is replete with respected quantum experts. Chris Osborne is co-chairman of the EMEA region and the global head of its economic and financial consulting practice. Over the last three decades he has provided opinions in over 200 cases, including 30 occasions in which he has provided oral evidence. Mark Bezant, leader of the economic and financial consulting practice in EMEA, is in high demand as an expert witness to assess damages before the High Court and arbitration tribunals; as such he has provided oral testimonies on over 40 occasions. Other experts in the office with decades of experience and accumulated pedigree include Andrew Mainz, Mike Pilgrem, Boaz Moselle and Greg Harman. On the European continent the firm’s 14-strong Paris office is also very well regarded. James Nicholson leads the team in damages work in relation to high-value commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, boasting an “unrivalled reputation in the market”. Will Inglis leads the international arbitration practice in Asia, having arrived in Singapore in 2015 and is already seen as “a star” in the region. In the US offices, James Searby leads the DC team in high-value damages disputes before international arbitration tribunals and in the national courts. Howard Rosen is the international arbitration global head with over 30 years of experience in more than 100 cases and his reputation in the country is considered “unsurpassed” by many.

The firm’s forensic and litigation consulting arm offers 20 forensic accountants who are considered market-leaders in the support of clients in government, regulatory and internal investigations, as well as in criminal and civil litigation. The firm’s top players include London-based Andrew Durant, who ranks among our most highly regarded with specialisation in, among others, financial statement fraud, stock and other asset losses, corruption and bribery, and investment fraud. Alongside him, Andrew Mainz is widely seen to be a leading figure with over 30 years’ experience in providing expert evidence in relation to accounting and financial investigations. Singapore-based Jarrod Baker is a “go-to” for investigations into complex fraud, serious misconduct and financial crime. In the UAE, Steve Harris is regarded as “a cut above” his regional competitors in commercial fraud and regulatory disciplinary investigations. In Chicago, global leader of the firm’s global risk and investigations practice Michael Pace is extensively experienced and widely endorsed for his expertise in matters of fraud or corporate corruption, due diligence investigations and asset investigations, among others.
