Trusts professional Raymond Davern joins Maples and Calder
Maples and Calder has hired Raymond Davern to join its global trusts and private client practice in London.
Davern is a former head of both the British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands private client and trust practices at Conyers Dill & Pearman, and he has more than 25 years’ experience in the trusts field.
Commenting on his new position Davern said: “I am very excited to be joining the Maples and Calder partnership and am looking forward to helping the team go from strength to strength.”
Paul Govier, managing partner of Maples and Calder’s London office, stated: “We are delighted to welcome Ray… I have every confidence that Ray’s technical expertise and his time on the ground in the Cayman Islands and BVI will help cement the Maples group’s position as a major player in the trusts and private client sector.”
Maples and Calder’s trusts and private client practice has established itself as a market leader, and advises on the laws of the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and Ireland in trusts and private client matters.
Davern is described as providing “intuitive” advice to clients due to his years of experience in the sector representing high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals.
Raymond Davern is recognised in Who’s Who Legal: Private Client (2015).
