Leading transport provider Keolis appoints new general counsel

Keolis North America has announced the appointment of Susan Herlick as general counsel. She will direct the company’s legal, compliance and regulatory affairs for its North American operation and will be based at its Rockville, Maryland headquarters.

Herlick joins from Orbital Sciences Corporation where she served as general counsel and corporate secretary. Her responsibilities included advising the company’s corporate staff and operating groups on a wide range of legal matters, particularly specialising on corporate law and transactions with commercial and government entities. Herlick began her career at Hogan Lovells in Washington, DC.

“Susan’s wealth of corporate legal experience working with government clients makes her a perfect fit for Keolis North America as we continue winning new public transportation contracts and expanding our operations” said Eric Asselin, general manager of Keolis.

Herlick commented: “Safe and efficient public transit systems are important for economic development and present interesting legal circumstances and opportunities along the way. I’m pleased to become part of the North American senior leadership team as they’re achieving such exceptional growth in our region and across the US and Canada.”

Kelois is a leading provider of passenger transportation services throughout the US and Canada. Each year it carries nearly 50 million people via train, bus and taxi across California, Florida, Nevada, Quebec, Virginia and as of this summer, Massachusetts. Keolis North America is part of Keolis SA, which holds transportation contacts in 15 countries worldwide.
