Kirkland Hicks is appointed GC at HR consulting company
Towers Watson has appointed Kirkland Hicks as its new general counsel. He will succeed Walter Bardenwerper who is retiring at the end of November after 25 years with the company.
Currently working as managing counsel for the Americas, Hicks has been with Towers Watson since May 2000. He chairs Towers Watson’s diversity and inclusion council for the Americas, and has worked on legal assignments throughout the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
“Kirkland will be a great addition to our senior management team,” said John Haley, chairman and CEO of Towers Watson. “His proven track record during the 12 years he has been with our legal team makes him an ideal candidate for this important role.”
Regarding Walter Bardenwerper, Haley said that he has been a “leader” in the development of Tower Watson’s enterprise risk management and global compliance program. “I am personally grateful for Wally’s advice and counsel over the years, and we all wish him the very best in his retirement,” he adds.
Hicks begins his new role on 1 November.
