MJ Moltenbrey
She joined the firm’s Washington, DC office from collapsed firm Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP. Prior to joining Dewey, she was a partner at now dissolved Howrey LLP.
Moltenbrey represents clients in civil and criminal cases, administrative proceedings and mergers and acquisitions. Her past experiences include helping to guide agricultural company Monsanto in its acquisition of Delta and Pine Land, and assisting in mining group Xstrata’s acquisition of Falconbridge. Moltenbrey has also previously acted as a prosecutor and official at the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division.
Michael Cohen chair of the antitrust and competition practice at Paul Hastings says that the firm is making “significant advances” by adding experienced lawyers to its roster. “MJ’s near two-decade long tenure at the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, where she was involved in some of the most significant investigations and cases ever brought by the government, coupled with her ability to transfer that experience to representing some of the world’s largest multinational clients, furthers our strategy to build a leading worldwide antitrust practice.”
William Sullivan, chair of the litigation practice said: “MJ’s arrival adds to our Washington antitrust reputation and further reinforces our growing competition and M&A capabilities.”
Moltenbrey is listed in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers and Economists.
