Linklaters expands US tax practice with hire of former Dewey pair
Gordon Warnke and Joseph Pari have joined Linklaters LLP in the firm’s US tax practice as partners.

They joined from dissolved international firm Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP.
Warnke, the former chair of Dewey’s tax department, now heads the New York tax practice at Linklaters. He focuses on federal income taxation of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions and the taxation of foreign governmental entities and financial products.
Pari, who is based mainly in Washington, DC, focuses on federal income taxation of mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs. His practice also includes restructurings, bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy workouts and acquisition financing.
The pair have recently worked on MetLife’s purchase of American Life Insurance Company from AIG, and The Walt Disney Company’s US$4bn acquisition of Marvel Entertainment, among other major media, entertainment, insurance and finance cases.
