Thirteen practitioners have been identified in this year’s chapter for their expertise in registration licensing, copyright, competition and litigation issues relating to trademarks.
Bereskin & Parr leads our research with four listings. Jonathan Burkinshaw is one of the most highly regarded practitioners in our research and is recommended for his “responsiveness and practical advice”. His practice focuses on all aspects of brand protection, including advising on registration and filings and representing clients on opposition and expungement proceedings and infringement matters. Jane Sarjeant specialises in trademark searching and prosecution and also provides expertise in filing applications, opposition and cancellation procedure. Martin Kratz QC leads the intellectual property practice at Bennett Jones and is one of the most highly recommended trademark agents in our research. He focuses on trademark matters related to IP and technology law. He is recommended as “a dynamic and creative trademark expert”. Dominique Hussey’s practice focuses on pharmaceutical trademark matters including regulation and branding. She also has expertise in litigation relating to pharmaceuticals trademarks.
