We highlight four leading lawyers who are well thought of in franchising disputes as well as the structuring, negotiating and drafting of franchise agreements.

Anderson Mori is the main hub of franchise law expertise in Japan. The team has an intimate knowledge of relevant national laws and regulations for both domestic and international companies, as well as a strong practice in assisting Japanese clients in their expansion into foreign jurisdictions.  Aoi Inoue is “definitely a specialist” with an excellent understanding of structuring franchise agreements.  According to respondents, “he is the standout name in the country”. Taisuke Yamamoto is regularly involved in both franchise litigation and transactions. Nominators mark him out as “knowledgeable and hardworking”. Yusuke Nakano is recognised as an “excellent disputes lawyer” and is called upon to act in some of the firm’s franchise litigation mandates.
