Austria: Mediation Analysis 2015
Austria is a pioneering centre for mediation law and practice; in 2004 it enacted the first mediation act in Europe. We list seven leading lights in this chapter.
Trialogis garners two listings. Gerhart Conrad Fürst has extensive experience mediating issues as varied as construction to corporate matters. Stephan Proksch is a “consummate professional” who is lauded by peers for his “dedication to matters”.
Dr Michael Czinglar at his own firm specialises in conflict resolution and is a “sensational adviser” who can be relied upon to help clients reach a collaboration solution.
Fiebinger Polak Leon & Partners’ Christoph Leon is a “go-to” for collaborative conflict resolution. He has experience handling disputes in the areas of IP, media and general contract law.
A founding partner of Graf & Pitkowitz, Nikolaus Pitkowitz also heads the dispute resolution and real estate teams. He has a strong focus on disputes on the CEE region and is an “excellent mediator”.
Konfliktkultur – Kulturkonflikt is represented by Mario Patera, a “leading light” in mediation whose “sensible advice” and “no-nonsense approach” is appreciated by clients.
Bettina Knoetzl at Wolf Theiss is “famed” for her dispute resolution practice. She specialises in disputes in the financial services and life sciences industries and is a “prominent player” in the mediation scene in Vienna.
