Commercial Litigation Marketplace Analysis

Litigation in Ghana is often considered a last resort in many disputes, but with the increase in business activity, the “highly expensive but effective” form of dispute resolution remains a busy area for lawyers. We identify 14 practitioners who stand out in for their litigation practice.

Minkah-Premo & Co boasts an impressive three practitioners. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremah receives widespread praise for his “extensive expertise” in litigation and dispute resolution. For with his business and local government work, clients describe him as a “driving force” in the Ghanaian business community. He is joined by Stephen Oppong who is based in the firm’s Kumasi office and is particularly “well versed” in criminal defence ligation. Christopher Akwesi is “much admired” by his peers for his “sound advice” and “sharp instinct” in this area.

Samuel Michaeland Codjoe from Law Trust Company is recognised for his “depth of experience in litigation” and is known for his “professional manner”.

Oxford & Beaumont Solicitors is represented by David Asiedu whose “outstanding litigation practice” covers a broad range of corporate and commercial disputes.

Anna Fordjuor from AB & David Law Affiliates is “in strong demand” for her “comprehensive litigation practice”. She has represented several major banks in debt management as well as advising on commercial and contractual disputes.

KK Sey from Sey & Co is known to “put clients at ease” with his “reputable litigation skills”. He has particular strengths in labour and employment ligation and “vast experience” handling a range of corporate disputes.

Sory @ Law’s Thaddeus Sory is a “high-profile litigator” and managing partner at the firm. He is revered by clients for his “great responsiveness, attention to detail and industry knowledge” and known by his peers as a “formidable opponent”.
